Mariano Galeano

Born in Buenos Aires, Mariano Galeano is an Argentine tango dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He began dancing at 13, launching his professional career soon after, and later broadened his training in modern and contemporary dance, ballet, contact improvisation, and partner techniques. He graduated from the National University Institute of Arts in Choreography, Dance, and Theatre in 2004.

Mariano is known for his versatile style, moving seamlessly between elegant salon tango and dynamic stage performances filled with speed, precision, and emotion. As a teacher, his patient, clear, and engaging approach makes tango accessible to dancers of all levels.

He has performed on Argentina’s most renowned stages—including Luna Park Stadium and Teatro San Martín—and appeared on television and in iconic tanguerías such as Café Tortoni and Esquina Homero Manzi. Mariano has danced with major orchestras like Color Tango, Los Reyes del Tango, and Fernández Fierro, and toured internationally with companies such as Otango, Romeo et Juliette, and Tanguissimo. Since 2009, he has been a featured performer on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Infinity, and Crystal cruise lines.

His international career spans festivals, exhibitions, and seminars across more than 25 countries. As founder and director of Tangauchos, his tango show company of over 20 years, Mariano has produced and choreographed acclaimed works such as Tango… Sensual e Imbatible and Chapado a la Antigua.

With his shows he toured internationally, also being invited to perform on the cruise ships Royal Caribbean, Crystal and Azuka.

He has also served as a jury member for prestigious tango competitions, including the first World Tango Championship.

Now based in Belgium, Mariano continues to teach through his school MG Tango and at the European Commission, remaining dedicated to sharing his artistry and deep knowledge of tango worldwide.

Together with his partner, Astria Apel, they performed as soloist couple and choreographed for the production of Maria De Buenos Aires at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. They also toured with the show We Call It Tango by FEVER and performed with the Herrera Tango Company.

Currently, they are performing with the Paris based company “Tango in Red” and touring with their productions “Hotel Buenos Aires” and “Romeo et Juliette Tango”.

The produced shows with the renowned “Color Tango” and “Sonder Tango” orchestras, with whom they are collaborating closely.
